Queenstown florist

Above a very old picture I took from a beautiful garden of a Queenstown florist in spring with a few tulips.

It showed I had no idea then I would make a pictures of tulips blog later on, otherwise I would have made sure the tulips were focused and in the middle of the picture!

I visited Queenstown New Zealand maybe some 20 or more years ago, as me and my husband used to travel the whole world in search of a good place to retire.

We did some tours in New Zealand and if you like peace and quite, it’s for sure the place to be. There are more sheep than men in New Zealand, and I remember not having seen much of both during our New Zealand travel.

New Zealand doesn’t have highways and a city like Queenstown is like the only real city for miles and miles around. Other spots on the New Zealand map would be called villages here in Europe!

I also remember New Zealand has cold weather. Although we went in spring and we had sunny days, the New Zealand weather felt as on a sunny but cold winter day in Europe. Lots of cold winds didn’t make it that appealing, not even to go window shopping in Queenstown New Zealand.

But that was more than 20 years ago: maybe now due to global warming, New Zealand is a warmer place to stay.

I should go back there next October and have a look. Maybe they do need a Queenstown florist after all and maybe there are more people to interact with than 20 years ago.

Anyway, I am "doing my New Zealand homework" these days, corresponding with a real New Zealand kiwi called Eric (see our previous posts about New Zealand flower deliveries, Black tulip magnolia and other Dunedin flowers).
