How to order flowers

Always order flowers at least 1 month in advance from florists that give a free sample. This way you can see how long your flowers last in normal house conditions and adjust your flower delivery if needed.

 

Our neighbour is turning 90 the evening before Christmas. She is an active widow so we wanted to surprise her with a huge banquet.

 

Actually we were just looking for a good excuse to bring our street together with a warm meal and warm drink around the wooden fire. All reasons are accepted to escape these cold and miserable dark winter days.

 

Of course I volunteered to order flowers. Good excuse to visit all the flower shops in our neighbourhood and source for the best value for money flowers arrangement.

 

Above is the flower bouquet – or at least what’s left of it! – that I originally wanted to decorate the tables.

 

The florist guaranteed these fresh flower arrangements would last at least 2 weeks… Which I thought to be a great idea, so most families will be able to take these Christmas flowers home after the evening is over.

 

… 4 days after this flower bouquet hit my table, the lilies where gone already…

 

That’s why I always start ordering flowers one month in advance to really try out whether the flowers in the arrangements really last as long as the florists promise.

 

Today I will drive back to the florist, show him what is left from his sad flower arrangement, let him make new ones and I promise him to pay for whatever of his promises come through!

 

You won’t get any surprises when you order flowers the above way!
