swallowThis is a great way to both keep grown ups and kids happy, especially if they are from the male species :-)

I remember my brothers trying to imitate fathers’ designs but for some reason each and every time had to re-ask father how to build the paper swallow.

So if you want a cheap and educational way to play with your kids, have a look at the 25 Paper Airplane Designs from a guy called Alex.

The design is quite sober, but basically you get what you come for:

instructions on how to make paper airplanes,
ranging from the most simple to quite sophisticated airplanes.

What makes this site special is that the low tech paper airplanes are illustrated with high tech videos! Which is good as they make the diagrams much easier to follow. I wish all paper airplanes would come with a video though.

The pages are more popular than you would imagine: the paper airplane design of the paper helicopter got already 15.000 votes. Apart from that there is more in the unusual category, and of course check out Alex’s favourites.

For students: if you feel bored in the classroom, then don’t tell anyone that I advice you to have a look at Alex’s Paper Airplane Designs :-) But there is really no age limit for making paper airplanes I find!

Blinds Bar Blog

I love to introduce you the Blinds Bar Blog: a blog sharing you all you need to know about blinds. Not to mention some added fun posts like the hamster shredder

It all looks like a beautiful blog written by a passionate logger… Yet this blog in fact the entrance of www.blinds-bar.co.uk, a UK blinds retailer. Their staff is sharing their knowledge to you in a very personal way you can only achieve in a blog.

At the left top you have a navigation bar to the blinds that are on sale and also here they completely have their readers in mind:

blinds

In stead of just showing you the little sample, they show you a picture how the blinds could look in a room.

For people like my style un-savvy hubby(luckily he is quite knowledgeable when it comes to DIY…): they even mention which style these blinds are in. (In this case traditional or temporary).

Mentioning the style is important when you want your house to be decorated following a theme: again you could be attracted to a beautiful blinds sample, but when it doesn’t fit the style of your room, start looking for other blinds!

Pictures and style: both extremely helpful when choosing anything for your house.

Like I said before: these people have the buyer in mind. Like you are talking to one of your friends over a few house and garden magazines gathering ideas of how better to decorate your house.

Further on, they explain you with pictures:

They can be easily contacted by email and phone.

Summarized: if you want tips and techniques about decorating your house with blinds, I recommend the very personal approach of this Blinds Bar Blog.
