I just got myself these lovely tulips thanks to New Zealand flower deliveries. Great because I just planted my tulip bulbs last week (see: Planting tulip bulbs) and was wondering how to get more tulips to put online.
Actually these tulips where delivered in my email all the way from New Zealand Christchurch by Eric: a kiwi living on the north island of New Zealand who loves to travel to the south island.
The tulips above are Christchurch flowers from the Christchurch botanical garden. Christchurch seems to be the garden city of New Zealand and it really looks great looking at all the pictures with flowers send from New Zealand.
The picture of tulips above was taken in the beginning of October, when spring season starts for the flowers in New Zealand.
Please send flowers!
- If you have pictures of tulips and live in spring on the southern hemisphere,
- if you have old pictures of tulips or
- if you want to add more New Zealand flower deliveries in my mailbox:
Please send your spring flowers and I will publish them here!

Keep an eye on your thermometer

Global warming or not, the weather can change overnight, so keep an eye on your thermometer and keep listening to the weather forecast. Why?
To give your autumn flowers like Chrysanthemum and Aster extra protection on a night where frost could strike!
You simply cover them the evening before with a thick blanket, and the next morning your flowers will be as fresh as ever.
With a bit of luck, you can keep your Chrysanthemums and Asters blooming in November (and you know thanks to global warming, even until December…)

Indoor rose garden

By now it must be clear to you all that I am stuck inside my house today.
Not only because it is raining outside, but my throat is aching and I feel my head when I don’t take pain medication (which is a big word for saying I am taking paracetamol every 4 hours…)
Hubby was so nice to bring the garden inside by picking me these roses
If only I was a better photographer without having the flu. And with this gray weather outside, it’s kid of depressing dark inside, not ideal for taking indoor pictures.
Anyway, I am off to drink lots of tea with honey and lemon made by hubby
Him being stuck in the house as well, he is going through my cookies cookbooks… Not a good idea when my throat is aching so I advised him to look for chicken stock recipes in stead
