I have been living in Europe for ages now, but that doesn’t prevent me to love my Chinese roots and to get excited when China get’s in the news again for the Olympic games or its tulips… kind of 
A symbol of Chinese culture has been made authentic Dutch tulips : 24000 tulips were used to make this Chinese Tulip Dragon in Keukenhof in the Netherlands.
… I do prefer real dragons but just imagine: 24.000 tulips…
Of course the dragon, measuring 10 by 15 meter, stands for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games that will start at 8-8-2008. That are 3 ‘8’s…
For those who still have no clue…an Olympic flag is flying next to the dragon, for good wishes for the first Summer Olympic Games in China ever.
For those that still don’t know what Keukenhof is all about: it’s the most popular spring attractions in the Netherlands, displaying six million blooming tulip and many, many other spring flower bulbs.
